Here you can learn about the exact process of your student move with StudyMover. From booking via the online form to loading at your starting address and unloading at your destination address, we explain every single step here.
Booking
By filling out the booking form, you request StudyMover to arrange a transport company for your student move free of charge. You enter your personal data as well as both addresses and choose your moving date with the tariff that suits you best. In addition to the transporter, a driver will also be organized for you.
The time included in the tariff starts from loading the moving van at the starting address and ends with unloading your furniture at the destination address. Therefore, try to estimate the right time you need for the whole move.
At the start address
The transport company will send a van with a driver to your starting address on the ordered date. The driver will park at your door and you can start loading your furniture. Now the calculation of the time booked in the tariff begins, the payment is made before departure, unless otherwise agreed, in cash to the driver.
The driver will not help you with your move, as he is not contractually obligated to do so. Most students receive help from their family, friends and fellow students. The driver will provide you with moving blankets and straps as well as tips on proper loading upon request and free of charge. It is best to place all furniture in front of the door or in the hallway in time for loading to save time.
The transport journey
Once you have loaded all the furniture, the driver checks the load, secures it with straps if necessary, and the journey to the destination begins. After prior consultation with the transport company, up to two people can travel in the van.
The booked operating time now also continues, even in the event of delays such as a traffic jam.
At the destination address
As soon as the driver arrives at the destination address, he opens the doors of the van and you can unload the furniture with your helpers. Only when all the things are loaded out of the vehicle, the operation time to be calculated ends.
Here is a tip as well: Take your things out of the transporter and put them aside. You can then carry them up to your apartment at your leisure - saving you time and money!
